News from the Watts – November 2024
Anthony continues to be in a cohort of pastors that is part of a larger group called the Sanctification Network.  His group meets weekly online, but this past October they were able to get together with the wider network of pastors for an in person retreat.  We continue to be so grateful not just the mentorship, teaching, and accountability that this group provides, but for the way they encourage and support Anthony and I on this journey of church planting and ministry. It is a joy to have people walk consistently beside us and be there through it all.  Anthony came back encouraged and refreshed! Â
In October we were able to make a short trip to Wilmore, Kentucky – where Anthony and I called home for 7 years before we moved to St. Louis. Â We stayed in our old home (the Inspire House) with our mentors and friends Phil and Sam Meadows, caught up with friends, and were able to attend Inspire’s house church on Sunday. Â Our souls were so encouraged and blessed to return to a ministry that means so much to us, and by the love and support we were given during our visit.
In November our family traveled to Indianola, Mississippi. Â We were invited by our friends from seminary, Michael and Kaylyn Lindsay, to speak at their church about our ministry and our heart behind it, as well as lead a Q&A on fellowship bands. Â We were welcomed so warmly by everyone and felt very loved by our visit there.
Anthony was also given the opportunity to preach from Philippians 4:19 on God’s provision this weekend, which reads, ” And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”  It was funny to us that this was what Anthony would be teaching on, because although we have seen God provide for us in so many miraculous ways, it is also one of our biggest struggles and doubts as we church plant and live this life of faith in Jesus.  Sometimes we get frustrated with ourselves, that even after these years of seeing God come through, we still easily doubt at times that he is for us.  It was a powerful weekend for us to share our testimony of God’s goodness, and remember all the ways he has been faithful.  It reminded us of what God has done and strengthened us in a sweet way.
We are giving thanks:
- For the many opportunities to see and be encouraged by friends and community this fall.
- The continued health and growth of our baby boy and good health for Kylie!
- We have had 2 new families join our community this fall, and they have been beautifully welcomed by our existing members. Â We are so thankful for the way our community has welcomed and loved new people!
We need prayer for:
- We are experiencing a lot of opportunities to build relationships in our neighborhood and through Lucy’s school that we are excited about.  Please pray that these connections would continue to develop and that God would continue to give us opportunities with our neighbors.Â
- We are actively praying for some spiritual leaders who can join our community and help share leadership. Â Please pray that God brings us the people we need.
- There are a lot of moving pieces happening with our health insurance right now, some of which are very up in the air. Â This has been especially frustrating as we cannot get connected with someone consistently who can help us navigate it. Â Please pray it gets resolved quickly and without added expense to us.
