Father God, now is a time for sorrow and tears
but we thank you that you are faithful yesterday, today and forever.
You comfort those who mourn, sit with those who grieve
and carry us through the valley of the shadow of death in the light of Your presence.
We give thanks for those who pray when we have no words,
for those who hold us up when we feel we can no longer stand,
and for those who faithfully remind us that
You are near even when we struggle to hear or see you ourselves.
Thank you for the power of Your praying people.
We love you, Lord.
