A Broad Path For My Feet

Am I listening to God through the Bible?

One of my biggest struggles with being sick is feeling like I can’t do anything productive.  I often rely too much on me, Kylie, producing things, rather than trusting God to do his work.  Psalm 18 says:

For who is God besides the Lord?
    And who is the Rock except our God?
It is God who arms me with strength
    and keeps my way secure.
 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
    he causes me to stand on the heights.
 He trains my hands for battle;
    my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
You make your saving help my shield,
    and your right hand sustains me;
    your help has made me great.
You provide a broad path for my feet,
    so that my ankles do not give way.

I noticed that in each verse it states what God has done, not what I have done! It is GOD who arms me with strength, HE causes me to stand, HE trains me, HE provides a path for my feet. God is behind me, with me, and before me.  He knows what we need and he is in charge.  It feels like a very sweet thing for God to teach us at the start of our church planting ministry – remembering that he is God and we are not.
