Reflect
John the Baptist was a very important person, not because he was rich and famous, or popular at that time in history. In fact he didn’t have a house, or any money, he wore only camel fur and he ate locusts and honey. And he was so disliked by some he was beheaded! The candle lit on the 3rd Sunday of Advent reminds us of John because he pointed the way to Jesus. He helped people to have a new start with God. He baptised them in the river Jordan. John helped people to realise that they needed Jesus.
