Jesus’ Family!
Read
Luke 1:26-33 and Matt 1:1-17
Reflect
In the Bible there are two genealogies for Jesus. One in Luke and one in Matthew. They tell us of the family tree of Mary (Jesus’ Mother) and Joseph (Jesus’ Father on earth). Why are these lists of names important? Take a closer look!
Do you recognise any of the names? Try and find their stories in the Bible. Some of them might surprise you.
Considering that Jesus was the son of God and was perfect (free from sin) his family tree is full of not so perfect people, and people who weren’t born into God’s chosen people.
Why do you think that this is important?
Jesus came to save everyone, not just the people of Israel, but everyone. And He knew what it was like to come from a family line of broken people, maybe just like ours.

Pray
Jesus. Thank you give us life in all is fullness. Thank you that you came, died and rose again so that we can live with you forever. Lord, be with our families, near and far, help us to love each other and forgive each other. Amen
