My day started much earlier than I anticipated and very differently than I would have chosen for myself. At about 4:20 a.m.our bedroom door flew open and I was awakened by the cutest 6 year old I know (my daughter!) who was in her own words, having “the worst growing pains of her life!” 😊
After my heart rate slow down, I felt our little girl starting to crawl in the bed asking for her leg pain to go away. This little sweety needed her momma to not only relieve the pain but also snuggle and then walk her back to her own bed and “re-tuck” her in. I prayed for her and blessed her. I also enjoyed kissing her precious nose, stroking her soft curls and finally saying “good night my love I’ll see you in the morning.” As I walked back my bed room, my Heavenly Father was there for me too, loving on me and my heart.
As I write this, it is now early afternoon. I am seeing the effects of what happens to each of us when we don’t get enough sleep! So we are all in our own bedrooms taking a quiet rest. In this space, I hear God, my Father, is inviting me to burst through the door into His room. What is it that I need? Just being with Him, being close, being known by Him, giving Him full access. I want to be shepherded by Him. I need Him in my parenting, in my marriage, in my extended family, in my friendships. You get the idea! I need His love and I want a deeper relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
What is Jesus, our Shepherd inviting you to today? How is God, our Father, wanting to love on us today? Will you respond to the prompting of the Holy Spirit today?
