- We hosted our first Worship Night at Stillwaters Coffeehouse on Sunday, October 6. Personally, I’m profoundly grateful for the time we were able to spend together, the talented musicians who helped us meet God through music, the folks at Stillwaters who let us use the space, and most of all, to Jesus for guiding us and meeting us as we seek more of him! Thank you to all who came out. We’re looking forward to coming together again on Sunday, November 3 at 4:30pm. If you love the Lord, want to get connected with our ministry, or simply just want some time and space to seek God, we’d love to see you there.
- A story of everyday mission…Just last week, I had a meeting with a young man (D) who sought my help with…well, I didn’t really know! He reached out to me because he saw my profile on Linked-in and thought it was unique (it is, to some extent at any rate). As I was driving to the meeting, I was asking the Lord what I should be prepared to share and he responded, “Tell him your whole story. Don’t hold back.” So I told him everything! I shared about our ministry, my leadership development work, our various businesses, and even about losing my dad to cancer when I was 21. Come to find out, his dad is currently battling stage four colon cancer. It was a remarkable thing to see how the Lord brought us together and how he ministered to D through my own story. It wasn’t planned and neither of us had any idea that would be a key moment in our meeting. But God did! And sometimes (all the time?) that’s the only thing that matters.
- We are so grateful for first gifts to our ministry! We are a crowdfunded non-profit, so every gift is tax deductible. But more than that, it helps us to create a sustainable movement that can impact our region (and beyond!) for years to come. If you’d like to support us financially, any amount helps. You can find all the information you need at our giving link here.
- If you’re looking to get involved with what God is doing in our midst, I would encourage you to a) reach out to me and talk through what’s stirring in your heart and b) join a Missional Community. What is a “missional community”? I’m glad you asked! Very simply, it’s a “small group” of different sizes that meets together for the purpose of sharing our life with God and each other and living on mission with Jesus in our every day life. We are currently starting new Fellowship Bands (3-5 people focused on soul sharing), House Fellowships (8+ who meet in homes, break bread together, and practice various corporate rhythms of discipleship together, and repurposing existing small groups (incorporating our ethos to help your church or group press into Jesus). If you’re interested in any of this, just reach out and let me know!
Please join us in praying for…
- D’s dad and his family as they continue this treatment for colon cancer.
- Stillwaters Coffeehouse – the owners and all the employees and folks who patronize that business.
- Hungry and curious folks who are meeting Jesus through our ministry.
- Our family as the kids continue to progress through this semester
- Donors who have the resources and desire to catalyze a movement of missional discipleship in our region.
- Partners in ministry…the different churches and communities who are transcending barriers and finding common ground in Christ and his way of life.
