News from the Watts family – August 2024
This summer brings some big news for our family and ministry that we are excited to share with you! Anthony and I continue to be so encouraged by those of you who keep up with us through our news and bless us through your prayers, friendship, and giving. It is our family in Christ that holds us up and keeps us going as we carry on in ministry.
We are officially a 501(c)3!
This summer The Table STL was officially approved as a 501(c)3, or an official non-profit. This means that the IRS formally recognizes The Table STL as a church community! This is exciting news and has a lot of positive implications for our ministry in the long run. The process of applying for 501(c)3 status was difficult, and we received a lot of help from various people that we are incredibly grateful for.
We finished and launched our church website!
Over the past year we have been growing increasingly aware of the need for a church website. Although we still believe this can in no way replace personal connections and relationships, we needed a central place to point people after initial connection where they can easily learn more about our mission and connect with our community. We spent a lot of time with our community leaders and discernment team while putting our website together, attempting to describe our church in a way where new people can understand our heart well. We are excited to have this resource available to us!
We would love for your feedback on our website, and would also love for you to remember and share it with anyone you think may be interested in what we are doing in St. Louis! https://www.thetablestl.org
We are having a baby!
We will be welcoming baby #3 in January! So far Kylie and baby have been healthy and everything is going well. Emmie (4) and Lucy (6) are beyond excited to have a new friend to play with, and we are joking that this baby better be ready to have 3 moms!
Prayer Points
We are giving thanks:
- The blessing of another member of our family!
- We continue to be so blessed by our church community, and have seen them show up for each other and love each other so well this summer. We are not big, but we have big love and it is incredible to see and be a part of.
- We have been able to grow in relationship with our neighbors this summer, and look forward to school starting and seeing even more connection in our community. Lucy will be walking to school with her other classmates, and we are praying that this will lead to even more relationships in our community!
We need prayer for:
- Please pray for our family, and especially Lucy, as she starts Kindergarten August 19th! Transitions are always hard, but we feel confident that she is ready. It is mostly her pregnant mother that is going to try not to fall apart!
- Please continue to pray for protection over our church community, and that God would continue to move amongst us and draw each of us closer to him.
- Finding ways to connect with new people in St. Louis continues to be a big challenge. We are constantly praying for breakthrough in this and would love for you to join us in praying for this.
