I have the enormous privilege to watch my son Josiah (8 months) experience everything for the first time, to watch and help him learn the simplest of tasks and to feel the pure joy of living. Everyday (especially those with little sleep!), I am challenged to stop, go slow and see through the eyes of my children. To feel big, to love more deeply, to question unendingly, and learn to accept things I can not control. Keeping your eyes open… It’s exhausting.
In the midst of all of this, I have been inspire-d! In September 2024 I began dedicating 7 hours a week to the Inspire Movement to continue developing the vision of Inspire for Kids that has been forming for so many years. Inspire is, and always has been, generational as we take very seriously the call to “tell the next generation” (Psalm 78.4). So, I have been praying and creating tools and resources that can be used through the Movement, just like the Advent Devotional that was published in 2022. Although many of these resources have been designed to be used whilst journeying with children, every one of them can be used by anyone of any age. Remember, we are all called to have faith like children.
Over the past few months I have been:
- Researching and reading about generation church, children’s spirituality, faith and education.
- Drafting and editing a Lent devotional for all generations.
- Designing, creating and trialing Way of Life dinner place-mats for children.
- ‘Translating’ the Way of Life questions into ‘kid language.’
How can YOU get involved?
- Share your wisdom, advice and ideas.
- Help with proof reading.
- Give towards my fundraising so I can continue to give time to Inspire.
- Pray – Pray – PRAY!
- Join the Inspire for Kids Team!
If you would like to get involved in any way with Inspire for Kids, or would like to chat about discipleship for children and families, do get in touch. I would love to hear from you.
