Jesus calls us to be the light in the darkness. Matthew 5.16 “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Our walk with Jesus should shine His light before others, so that they can encounter God. When we walk along the path with other believers, walking with Jesus the light grows and grows and glows!

One of the ways we have seen the light whinging in our neighbourhood was through our presence at the local community ‘Ho Ho Ho Festival’ when our church shared the story of the nativity.
In Wilmore, KY, one of the families we know is from India. A Christmas tradition there would be to go door to door carol singing but it is not very common in Kentucky. In all of the 4 years they have been here they had never seen it. So one of the local Inspire house fellowships made a special Christmas card with illustrations by the children, and the lyrics for some carols inside. They wrapped up warm and surprised the family with door-step carol singing. They were invited indoors and the family joined in with their guitar and singing in their own language. There were tears of joy running down their faces. As the fellowship were leaving the family told us that we had been the best Christmas gift of all. Our singing brought the light of Jesus into their Christmas so far from home.
Shining the light of Jesus is something we should be doing every day, not just at Christmas! Sharing our journey with others throughout the year helps us to be every-day missional disciples. See below for some ideas of Inspire could help you to do that.
