The Inspire Movement, promoting missional discipleship in churches around the world since 2007!
Our Vision
The Inspire Movement is an international network of people who are committed to developing Missional Discipleship in the leadership and life of the church. Our vision is to help all Christians live as whole-life disciples and everyday missionaries, who abide deeply with God and live missionally in the world. And we do this by partnering with persons, groups, organizations and local churches to offer support, training and networking for this disciple-making ministry.
Our DNA
Although Inspire is an ecumenical movement, it draws upon the the wisdom of John Wesley who pioneered a world-changing movement of missional disciples. At the heart of this movement is discipleship as a Way of Life: of seeking growth in the love of God, practicing his presence through spiritual disciplines, helping one another in small group fellowship, and sharing the gospel with the least and the lost. These form the basic DNA for renewing the disciple-making practices in local churches, for starting up Fellowship Bands, House Fellowships, and for church planting teams.
Our Network
Our network is composed of persons, organizations and partner churches, who are exploring the Inspire vision for discipleship in their own contexts. We stay connected through training events, retreats, online gatherings and learning communities supported by our Missioners. Our Newsletters keep us all informed about resource updates, training opportunities, and good news stories.
Our School
Our School of Discipleship trains and equips people/churches in the Inspire vision for Missional Discipleship, Fellowship Band, House Fellowship, and Study Groups. We believe people learn best in community. For this reason, we deliver this curriculum in the form of Learning Communities. The school offers both in-person and online opportunities throughout the year.
Our Founders
The Inspire Movement was founded in 2007 by the Rev. Dr. Philip Meadows and his wife, Samantha. Phil is presently serving on the faculty of Asbury Theological Seminary (Wilmore, KY) as Sundo Kim Professor of Evangelism. Previously, Phil was lecturer in theology and religious studies at Westminster College (Oxford, UK), before spending six years as E. Stanley Jones Professor of Evangelism at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary (Chicago, IL), and then 10 years as lecturer in missiology at Cliff College (Derbyshire, UK). He specializes in Wesley studies, missiology and the theology of evangelism and is past president of the Wesleyan Theological Society. His research and publication interests combine theology and discipleship in the Wesleyan tradition with the missionary challenges of contemporary culture. Samantha is the Administrator for the Inspire Movement.
