Way of Life

The Inspire vision for mission-shaped discipleship is centred on developing an everyday ‘way of life’ with four ingredients:

SeekingGrowth3Seeking Growth

We are intentional about pursuing ‘holiness’ of heart and life, as everyday growth in God’s love. We learn about how to long for more of God: to hunger for all that God has done for us through Jesus, and to thirst for all he does in us through the Spirit. And we learn how to be filled, transformed and overflowing with love of God and neighbour.

UsingDisciplines3Using Disciplines

We are intentional about taking up the spiritual disciplines as means of grace through which we grow in God’s love. We learn about how to stay connected with God through the personal practices of prayer, scripture, cmmunion, fasting or abstinence. And we learn how to connect others with God through the missional practices of serving others in body and soul.

SharingFellowship3Sharing Fellowship

We are intentional about helping one another become fully devoted followers of Jesus in our daily lives. We learn how very small groups help us abide more deeply in God’s love. And we learn how mutual accountability and group spiritual direction can help us respond more faithfully to the leading of the Spirit.

EngagingMission3Engaging Mission

We are intentional about finding God at work in our everyday relationships, and to share his love in word and deed. We learn how to practise the presence of God in the ‘here and now’ of ordinary life. And we learn how recognise, listen and surrender to the impulses of the Spirit, as they invite us to share in God’s kingdom work, moment by moment, one act of mercy at a time.

Our Learning Community became a time of blessing when we were challenged to recognise and accept the missional presence of God in our lives, and to consider the practical implication of the great commission directives for our group as a mission base. Mitchelstown, 2017

“Using this format (fellowship band), and the ideas from Inspire has been the most formative and indeed inspiring ‘thing’ for want of a better word, that I have been part of for years.”

“I have been helped (by Inspire) to practice God’s presence more intentionally in my everyday life and seeing God at work to pray and see answers to pray and see God working in the lives of those I come across in my daily life and in the life of the other participants.” Belfast, 2017

“Thanks so much for the teaching sessions this year. I found them inspirational and I love the discussion format – it really engages those present, and we learn so much more than listening to a talk. It is one of the few places that ministers get “fed” and so is very valuable to us”

“The Inspire Learning Community has helped me to intentionally reflect on where God is at work. It has given me to the space to explore, reflect, & learn more about what it means to ‘church’.”Dublin, 2017

The difference already that Band has made to my life?
