We recently went on a visit to the seaside. God blessed us with both rain and sunshine! It was our 10 month old son, Malachi’s, first seaside experience (that he can remember). He loved the sand and the sea. We went swimming and splashing, walking and chasing after seagulls.
There is nothing quite like being by the sea. Listening to the waves crash. Tasting the sea spray. Feeling the sand and the water. Seeing the clouds move across the heavens.
It reminds us that God loves us as far as the east is from the west. From the furthest star to the oceans depths. How great, how mighty, how wonderful!
Psalm 103 (NIRV) puts it like this:
He loves those who have respect for him.
His love is as high as the heavens are above the earth.
He has removed our sins from us.
He has removed them as far as the east is from the west.
A father is tender and kind to his children.
In the same way, the Lord is tender and kind
to those who have respect for him.
Their children’s children will know
that he always does what is right.
