One Friday it was raining in Wilmore for the first time in a very very very long time. As the rain fell you could see the grass turning green again before your eyes and the leaves unfurling from their wilting. It reminded me of Psalm 42 (NIRV)
A deer longs for streams of water.
God, I long for you in the same way.
I am thirsty for God. I am thirsty for the living God.
And I find myself giving praise to God for watering the dry land, and pouring living water into my life.
Praise the Lord.
How good it is to sing praises to our God!
How pleasant and right it is to praise him!
Sing to the Lord and give him grateful praise.
He covers the sky with clouds.
He supplies the earth with rain.
He makes grass grow on the hills.
Psalm 147 (NIRV)
