Hannah Wittenberg is an Inspire Missioner based in Wilmore, KY, USA. She recently made the decision to step out in faith to be a full-time Missioner with Inspire. Here is how her story begins…
“In the Fall of 2018 I joined a house fellowship with a ministry called Inspire. In this house fellowship we ate a meal together, shared about our weeks and enjoyed each other’s company, but above all we focused on how we saw Jesus in our everyday life. Our conversations encouraged each other and challenged everyone present to grow closer to Christ. Over the past few years, I have become more involved with Inspire through joining their small accountability groups called “Bands”, continuing to be involved with house fellowships and participating in the online school of discipleship. Inspire has been such a source of life for me and many others! For this reason, I have decided to work with Inspire full time as an Inspire Missioner!
As a missioner, I will work to train and develop others who are a part of Inspire. Some aspects of this are mentoring bands, creating connections at the university in town, developing resources, hosting events and much more! One of the unique roles of my position is that I get to walk with people in healing prayer! By this I mean, sitting down with someone and seeking Jesus for healing from emotional or spiritual brokenness. Practically, this can look many different ways, but some examples are:
- Working through lies we have believed about ourself, God, or the world.
- Asking Jesus where He was in hard situations.
- Working through unforgiveness
- Giving Jesus the idols we have in our life
- Allowing ourselves to feel unprocessed grief or other hard emotions
Over the past several years I have had the opportunity to go through various trainings in healing prayer. As a result, the LORD has given me many opportunities to sit down with people and help them find healing in Jesus. It is truly amazing seeing the LORD heal people from wounds they have carried around! I would love to share more about this with you on the phone or in person!
