When we quote Isaiah, it is often about being strengthened and lifted up. But we forget that God promises to take us by the hand, hold on and not let go.
For I am the Lord you God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13
It struck me that it says ‘takes hold’ – the action is the Lord’s. Even when we may not feel able to hold up our hand he will take it in his.
The other thing that stood out to me was in verse 14.‘
Do not be afraid… for I myself will help you,’ declares the Lord, your Redeemer. Isaiah 41:14
It says “I myself will help you”. How amazing is that. The Lord God HIMSELF takes hold of our hand so that we do not have to be a afraid.
