Looking for Jesus

The youngest member of our fasting study group at the start of Lent was Zoe (4 mths). (By the end of Lent baby Josiah had joined us at just a few days old!) As we began one of our Zoom meetings, Zoe heard Sam’s voice and got excited. She enjoys being held by all of her friends (including Sam) in house fellowship. But then it seemed like Zoe was getting frustrated as the Zoom call went on. She was hearing all of the voices, but she was unable to interact with all of the new friends on Zoom! Zoe could hear Sam’s voice but she could not see her. She knew Sam was there and wanted to be able to find her and the other voices she could hear.

And it made us wonder: Are we excited to hear Jesus voice? Are we looking to find him in our day? Are we desperate to be in his presence?

The amazing thing about Jesus is that he IS with us, and not like on a Zoom call! We may not see him with our earthly eyes but we open our spiritual eyes and tune our spiritual ears and feel him in our hearts – and Jesus is with us, always.

““I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me, …My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. .. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand.” John 10:14, 27-29 NLT
