Herod called the Magi to for a secret meeting and told them fibs! Would you have believed Herod?
Have you ever been lost? Imagine trying to find a baby in the middle of a town you don’t know, where every house is filled with even more people than usual because of the census. The Magi were overjoyed to see the star again, because then they knew which way to go. The Magi brought Jesus gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, what strange gifts for a baby.
Think about the rest of Jesus life.
Why do you think they gave the gifts of gold – a symbol of kingship; frankincense – an incense and symbol of deity; and myrrh an anointing oil and a symbol of death?
