Anthony and Kylie, along with their daughters, Lucy and Emmie, have embarked on a new adventure this year to church plant in St Louis, Missouri, USA. They write, “If we have learned anything from doing ministry alongside the Inspire Movement for 3 years, it’s that the ministry itself is what God is doing in people’s lives, and the stories we have to share of where he is at work. Ministry is joining in what God is already doing and saying, and so the ministry IS the stories of where he is at work!”
Kylie had a very clear word for what He is doing in St. Louis. She writes: “I had randomly selected a new, red journal a month ago with poppies on it, which was out of place for me because I don’t usually like the colour red. While I was praying, God told me to look into the history of poppy flowers. I learned that after WWI, thousands of poppies grew on Flanders Fields because of the rubble left behind from battle. The rubble contained lime, which acted as a fertilizer for the flowers. One description stated, “In the warm spring of 1915, bright red flowers began peaking through the battle-scarred land”. God then reminded me of a verse given to us before the start of our ministry in Isaiah 43: “See, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland”. I then saw a vision of me standing in the center of a field with poppies sringing up all around me. I felt God saying that He is already doing something in St. Louis. In fact, so many new things are springing up that it will be hard to keep up with it all! It will be our job to nurture the growth, but the new growth is already happening out of the battlefield.
We have been in St. Louis for only 4 weeks and we are already seeing this to be true! We have already come into contact with so many people that are already hungry and ready not just for community, but for more of Jesus himself. In fact, people are so ready that we have already have our first missional community starting this week, with another starting in the next few weeks! It is amazing to see the work God has already done here, and we are so excited to be a part of it.”
